I remember it like it was yesterday even though it was years ago. She lived around the corner from me and her parents were away. She called me and said to come over. It was raining outside and the waterbed was there calling to us both. She looked into my eyes and asked, already knowing the answer, "do you want to?" I nodded, maybe a little over eagerly. She led me to her parents waterbed and the rest is history. A boy became a man.
My first sip of beer at 23 Public, had a much similar impact on me. I'll never forget it and it changed me profoundly. Each beer in the flight I ordered, was somehow just as good as the last, but all were distinctly different. From the smoothness of the #1 to the punch of the IPA to the Stout, everything was perfect. I even thought the sour was out of this world, even though I've never really been a fan of sours before.
I will absolutely be returning to 23 Public in the future, and suggest everyone give it a go, too. You'll realize what you've been lacking in your life, once you do.
In my opinion.... best craft beer in Taiwan and one of my favorite drinking spots! A 12 tap selection of both 23 brews and some others, alongside simple but tasty food.
Friendly and chatty staff made my bar experience enjoyable and familiar whilst DJs playing vinyl added an authentic vibe.
A Taipei must!
